NUTRIA is being pursued by a multidisciplinary team of four institutions with proven experience in nutrition, gestational diabetes, ethnographic fieldwork, Participatory Design and mHealth, which will be essential for the creation of a mobile app for pregnant women with gestational diabetes. The project partners are:

Fraunhofer Portugal AICOS [coordinator] (AICOS) is an applied research centre from Portugal focused on supporting industry through research- and technology-based innovation, namely in the healthcare sector. The centre has a strong track record of co-designing technologies to support chronic condition monitoring and self-care. The experience of designing self-care technologies is leveraged in this project to support pregnant women in learning to care for gestational diabetes. The team is currently coordinating projects on nutrition recommendations, maternal and child health literacy, and chronic condition monitoring using smartphones, which have synergies with this project. The main research areas of AICOS are Human-Centred Design, Artificial Intelligence, and Cyber-physical systems. https://www.aicos.fraunhofer.pt

Centro Hospitalar Póvoa de Varzim- Vila do Conde (CHPVVC) is a public hospital of the National Health Service (SNS) that merged two old hospitals, one in Póvoa de Varzim and another in Vila do Conde. CHPVVC is guided by the following values: Guidance patient-centred on promoting the health of the community; Respect for human dignity; Defense and application of ethical principles in personal, professional and institutional relationships; A culture of technical excellence and care; A culture of knowledge as a good in itself; Availability for the development of partnerships with other institutions. Their clinical practices are very patient centred and humanist, which has brought to CHPVVC some notorious awards and both national and international references, especially in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Service. Centro Hospitalar Universitário de Santo António (CHUdSA) is one of Portugal’s leading clinical and University hospitals. The Hospital Center is structured as a campus supported by three areas: the Hospital de Santo António devoted to multisystem diseases and infectious disorders; Centro Materno-Infantil do Norte for mother and child health and Centro de Genética Médica for genetics. The Department of Education, Training and Research (DEFI) of CHUP offers wide support for clinical researchers, working in partnership with academia, funding agencies and the industry. DEFI contributes to the development of therapies through clinical trials (phases I to IV) and medical devices studies, by providing support through study management, funding and budget. CHUP is a scientific partner of the Portuguese Clinical Research Infrastructure Network (PtCRIN), which is connected to the European Network Infrastructure ECRIN. DEFI promotes partnerships with other hospitals and universities, as well as with FCT affiliated research units.
